View from Mudbrick Estate. The island is pretty large and it has got a property boom. A small house with a good view of the ocean costs about as much as a regular villa in Gothenburg. Not in the Bohuslän league yet, though.
The bus stopped for five seconds just beside the road so we all could get a nice shot of this view.
Björne poses in front of the Chardonnay vines at Stonyridge. Note the
rose bushes planted at the end of the rows. There are several explanations for this tradition: The roses are the first to die if a disease strikes. Long ago, they had horse barrows walking the rows during harvesting. The horses often cut corners and squashed the last vines, which made the farmers plant thorny rose bushes so the horses only cut a corner once in life. Nowadays, they say the roses are just there to be pretty, to keep the tradition alive. If they die of disease, it is too late for the vines anyway. |
