All glacier guides wear shorts. The rest of us wear rain pants. It rains 180 days each year, so a raincoat is essential. The sun was shining when we left the village.
Katja all geared up as an explorer with Ice Talonz(TM) and rain clothes.
This is what the less gritty side of a glacier looks like. You have to go up a bit before you can see it. From the bottom it is mostly gravel and rocks.

As you can see, we have finally beaten the glacier. Katja makes the universal sign for "I have power like Godzilla".
Scenic waterfall. This was mostly rain water and not glacier water, so the stream running from it was pretty warm, maybe even batheable.
